Dr. Harry J. Markham, DVM.
Harry Markham was raised in Southfield, MI, and later attended Michigan State University as an undergraduate. He joined the U.S. Army (Aviation) during Desert Shield and served as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crew chief and flight instructor during Desert Storm. After his tour overseas, he was stationed with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY, where he received his honorable discharge.

Dr. Markham attended Austin Peay State University and received a Bachelor's of Science with a Minor in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and received his DVM degree. He is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Tennessee, a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and a member of the Tennessee Disaster Area Response Team.

Dr. Ralph H. McCoy, Ph.D., J.D.
Ralph H. (R.H.) McCoy grew up on a farm in rural Texas, and attended Baylor University, Waco, TX, where he received his B.S. in Biology (General) in 1963 and his M.S. in Biology (Mammalian Physiology) in 1965. He then attended Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, where he was awarded his Ph.D. in Microbiology (Medical Microbiology) in 1973. Years later he attended the Nashville School of Law where he earned his J.D. in 1990.

He taught at Texas A & M University, Kingsville, TX, from 1974-1976 as a Visiting Assistant Professor before coming to Clarksville, TN, to teach at APSU. During his years at APSU (1977-2005 when he retired), he taught the following courses: General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Bacteriology, Bacterial Physiology, Immunology and Serology, Parasitology, Virology and Tissue Culture, and Water Pollution and Control. He was the Director of the Clinical Microbiology Program from 1981-1992.

He served as M.S. thesis advisor for several students and is the author of 13 peer-reviewed publications. During his life in academia he has presented numerous seminars and workshops at the Tennessee Department of Health, Nashville, as well as Clarksville Memorial Hospital (Gateway) and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.

We are very fortunate to have Dr. McCoy on our team, not only because of his extensive scientific knowledge, but also for the care and compassion he shows for our patients and their families.
