FAQ

Do we work on large animals?
Although trained to treat large animals, we do not perform these services at this time. Special equipment and different medications (ex. vaccines) would be required to perform these services.

What services do you provide?
The Pet Calls clinic is designed to provide a full range of services. Annual wellness exams and vaccinations, heartworm testing, fecal analysis, comprehensive ear evaluations, anesthesia, ultrasonic dental cleaning, general surgery, blood analysis, radiography (X-Rays), endoscopy, radiosurgery, urinalysis, skin evaluations, at home euthanasia, feline leukemia and FIV testing: almost any service found in a land-based clinic can be performed on board.

What services are not provided?
Situations that require hospitalization may be referred to a local or emergency clinic. Many orthopedic surgical procedures are also referred to another clinic.

Do you carry certain medications on board?
The clinic is stocked with a variety of veterinary medications to include heartworm prevention (Heartguard Plus and Interceptor), flea prevention (Frontline Plus), medicated shampoos, vitamins, antibiotics, etc. If a product is not in stock we are usually able to write a prescription and obtain it at a local pharmacy or order it from a supplier if not needed immediately.

Should my pet be hospitalized overnight after being spayed or neutered?
Overnight hospital stays are a wonderful idea, provided someone remains at the clinic all night long with your pet. There are currently no clinics in the area that provide staff during the night. For this reason, we believe your pet is better off at home where if a problem arises you can simply call and we can respond immediately. Fortunately, post-operative complications are extremely rare. We also believe your pet will be more comfortable at home than in a strange environment with other unfamiliar animals.
